Top 10 Things Not To Mail To Las Vegas

So I have never tried handmade soap before. I wanted to. I purchased some online.
Um...I live in Las Vegas. It was 109 degrees out today. My mail comes at 3:15 PM, and I got home at 4:00 PM. Let's just say that I checked my mail 45 minutes ago and my new soap is still all sorts of melty!

~
I didn't even think of the heat getting it!
~
I now need to add that to my ever growing list of things that I can not purchase through the mail when it's hotter than 90 degrees.
~
This is the start of my "Top 10 Things Not To Mail To Las Vegas" list:
~
1. live ants
~
2. live tadpoles
~
3. bars of soap
~

4. chocolate

~
The critters arrive not so alive, and the soap arrives not so hard. =)
~
Oh, I'm a third grade teacher so that's why I purchased ants and tadpoles. I have a light-up, glow in the dark aunt farm and a tadpole habitat.
~
I purchased the soap because I take baths!

smiles,Kathy

Oh, you poor thing! Add chocolate to the list too... I hope you have better luck when it isn't so hot.

ditto on the chocolate, or even ants covered in chocolate!

Definitely add chocolate to the list. I had very sad children two Easters ago!

I haven't been in Las Vegas during the summer. It is humid where I live; I prefer the dry summers!

Good luck with future orders.

Aw, that sucks! Have you tried cold process soap? I have some, and they won't melt...yes...you CAN buy soap in the summer!

So sorry to hear of the demise of your soap! That's great to know though that cold process soap won't melt. I've had some nearly melted soap recently (I'm in So. CA) and I'm happy to know I can still buy handmade soap in the Summer...

Oh, and definitely add chocolate to the list! :)

Hey, I live in Vegas too and now thanks to your "reminder" tips about what not to buy and ship during the summer I know to wait on some "purchases, hehe.

I have always wanted to try the egg frying on a sidewalk thing but have never gotten around to it yet.

I have loved reading through your wonderful blog.

Hah. I didn't even know soap melted in that sort of temperature! (Australian here. It gets hot.)
